I don’t need to tell you how *insane* the world is right now.
I’m not here to preach a viewpoint, I’m here to provide an antidote for your own mental health plummeting down the ravine of despair.
ART.
When the weight of rage drags your muscles into your boots, making you want to scream, throw and destroy.
ART. Headphones, heavy metal on and sing (scream) at the top of your lungs.
When the news disgusts you with the inhumane and the atrocities begin to sink deep under your skin making you want to vomit.
ART. Walk outside and disappear amongst the art of nature. Look at the trees, listen to the birds, watch the water flow downstream.
When you see leadership across the world letting all the people they lead down, making you wonder who to trust, who is right, who is doing what’s best for us?
ART. Read a book that let’s you question, with characters that push the ideas of hope and fear and trust.
These are the very times that art can speak to, so let it. Whether you consume it or create it, ART must reign. Don’t drown in social media – be informed enough – then process what’s happening with the art that let’s you feel whatever it is you need to feel. Your feelings are valid, now walk through them with art as your companion. It is how we survive, it is how we make it to the other side and build a world that is new, different and built on the principles that matter to us. We learn and we live. We don’t languish.
Stay strong!
